As a celebrant in Northern Ireland who is neither a religious minister, registrar nor humanist, you will need to have your marriage licence in place before the big day, however this will liberate you with regards to where you have your wedding ceremony (the venue will not require a wedding licence), and what it can entail (most official services outside church settings forbid any kind of prayer).
The service can be as long or short as you like, and can really harness you as a couple. Any questions on the legal end of things, please don't hesitate to contact me.

First and foremost we're going to be a team, so it's important that we get to know each other first.
I offer free no-obligation first chats to explore what you want from your ceremony and for you to get a chance to see if I'm the right fit for you. We can chat about service options or ideas you may have, or we can simply have a chat and get to know one another. These can be in person within a reasonable distance or Virtual!
From there if you decide I'm the right person for your celebration, then we will more formally start to look into how you would like your service formatted and what elements you may like to have as a part of your day.
I will take your ideas and start to write a bespoke service that suits your needs and give you time to think of music, readings etc. If I'm celebrating your wedding I'll need to talk to you as a couple but also as individuals to get a real essence of your relationship.
From there we will have lots of catch ups and check ins to make sure we're all go. If you'd like a full rehearsal thats no problem, or if your readers need a little support in public speaking, I can help there too.
I will be open and honest as to the costings throughout so there's no hidden charges, and services can be as simple or elaborate as you wish.

Hi there, my name is Jennifer Goodall and I am your Family Celebrant. I am based in Belfast but willing to travel Northern Ireland, with other locations available on request.
My background is actually in sport. I'm a retired Rugby Union player, having played for over 14 years. I also have a background in Sports Massage Therapy, where I have been helping people with their aches and pains for over 10 years, and am currently a Lecturer in Sport specialising in sports massage and sports injury management.
I'm married to the wonderful Laura, we've been together for 12 years, and together we take care of our little rescue dog, Scout.
I am an avid cook, love to sing, and have a guilty pleasure in my love of Eurovision.
Why did I want to become a Family and Wedding Celebrant?
That's easy, I've been to many family celebrations, and one thing that always stuck with me, was the feelings of joy and togetherness as families and friends gathered to celebrate one of their own. It's a highlight in a families timeline, a real red letter day. And I would be honoured to play a part in your day, and make it the day you've always wanted!
Through my own life journey, I've seen the many different styles and genres of weddings and celebrations my friends and family have had, my personal favourite being a request for everyone at a wedding to dress in medieval fantasy! But, I've learned a lot about what it means to be married, to commit to someone for the rest of your life, and have a wedding that reflects your relationship, and your personalities individually, and as a couple.
I'm excited to help you make some beautiful memories to treasure forever!
